LES THERMES

La réalisation des thermes se place autour du deuxième siécle av.J.C:  Tout le monde pouvait accéder, en effet beaucoup d’établissement avanient l’ entrée libre.

Les thermes sont un lieu de relax, de rendez-vous et de socialisation.

Les premières thermes sont construites où se trouvent des sources d’ eau chaude.

Les thermes sont constituées du frigidarium, où se trouve une piscine d’ eau froide, du tepidarium, où se trouve une piscine d’ eau à température modérée et enfin du calidarium, où se trouve une piscine d’ eau chaude.

Autour de ces lieux il y a l’ apodyterium, le sauna et le gymnase.

Vicence est une ville politiquement  fidèle à la dinastie “ Giulio-Claudia” et ça a enrichi cette ville avec les thermes, qui ont été retrouvées “Contrà Pescherie Vecchie”, et il est possible de les visiter dans la “Pizzeria Paradiso”.

THERMAL BATHS

The thermal baths were built around the II century b.C.

The thermal baths were one of the principal places where Roman people could meet, relax and socialize. At the thermal baths everybody could access, also popular class because the entrance was free. Firstly thermal baths were situated near the natural sources, afterwards in the city centre too.

Thermal baths were a succession of rooms: at the centre there was “frigidario”, where there were cold water baths, after “tepidario”, where there were warm water baths and at the end there was “calidario” where there were hot water baths.

Around these principal places there were the swimming-pool, the apodyterium, where people could change their clothes, the sauna where people could relax and gym, where people could train.

Vicenza became a town hall under the family “Giulio-Claudia” in 49 b.C. : thanks to it even the city of Vicenza was enriched with the thermal baths.  The remains of the thermal baths were recovered in “Contrà Pescherie Vecchie” where it is possible to visit them at “Pizzeria Paradiso”.

LE TERME ROMANE

Le terme romane erano degli edifici pubblici che rappresentavano uno dei principali luoghi di ritrovo. Alle terme poteva avere accesso quasi chiunque, anche i più poveri, in quanto in molti stabilimenti l’entrata era gratuita o quasi.

Le terme erano un luogo di socializzazione, di relax e di sviluppo di attività vive per uomini e donne che, in spazi ed orari separati, facevano il bagno completamente nudi. Le prime terme nacquero in luoghi dove era possibile sfruttare le sorgenti naturali di acque calde o dotate di particolari doti curative. Col tempo,soprattutto in età imperiale, si diffusero anche dentro le città.

Le terme di Vicenza sorgevano lungo il limite meridionale del foro e ora coincidono con “Pizzeria Paradiso”, dove al piano interrato si trovano i resti. Attualmente, dove gli uomini d’affari fanno i loro meeting più importanti , un tempo erano le terme gli spazi che oltre a rilassarsi, si discuteva di politica, si prendevano decisioni importanti per il presente e per il futuro della città o dell’Impero.

Lo sviluppo interno tipico era quello di una successione di stanze, con all’interno una vasca di acqua fredda, la sala del frigidario, solitamente circolare e con copertura a cupola e acqua a temperatura bassa, seguita all’esterno dal calidario, con bacini di acqua calda. Tra il frigidario e il calidario vi era una stanza mantenuta a temperatura moderata, il tepidario.

La costruzione delle terme è contemporanea agli altri edifici pubblici della città e si colloca attorno alla prima metà del I secolo a.C.
